What You’ll Do
- Deeply understand the experience of users, be able to measure their experience across touchpoints, and identify opportunities and methods to improve the quality of their experience
- Identify and communicate research goals, set research strategy, create and implement research plans and scripts
- Lead a range of generative and evaluative research methods including contextual inquiry, card sorting, usability testing, heuristic analysis, A/B testing, cognitive walkthroughs, focus groups, literature reviews, user observations, workflow analysis, usability tests, interviews, participatory design sessions
- Synthesize research and provide insights to key team members to drive design decisions
- Influence the integration of goals and research findings into development processes and KPIs
- Participate in the design of data-driven product and service strategy documentation including personas, mental models, customer journey maps, workflow documentation and product and service vision prototypes
- Facilitate workshops to ideate and collaborate across disciplines, and translate user insights into innovative products and services
- Serve as User Research Lead for new business activities, presentations, and estimates
- Influence and gather stakeholder requirements and contribute to their translation into innovative design
- Identify and reconcile discrepancies in the application of user-interface styles, patterns and standards across product groups and propose ways to ensure compliance
- Investigate and recommend new and emerging research methods, technologies, and process improvements
- Deliver compelling presentations of research findings and recommendations that influence product and service design throughout the development lifecycle
- Collaborate with cross-functional design teams on process, interaction design and flows
- Present research findings and design work to internal teams as and clients
- Organize and delegate work to other experience designers as appropriate and provide mentorship
- Contribute to the life of the firm through thought leadership
What You Have
- 10+ years of research and design experience (including hands on experience with design) software
- Master's degree in Human Factors Engineering, Human Computer Interaction, Cognitive Psychology or Ergonomics, or related area
- Strong ability to lead user research, testing activities and deliverables
- Experience with Qualitative mixed methods research methodologies
- Stellar verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to create and tell stories both internally and to clients
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams
- Experience working on enterprise digital product development (applications and websites)
- High-level knowledge of user experience design process
- Strong ability to lead user research, testing activities and deliverables
- Excellent ability to explain complex design decisions to experts and laypeople
