What You’ll Do

  • Write modular, maintainable and reliable C++ code
  • Collaborate with product and client service teams to diagnose and solve product issues
  • Provide debugging support for instances of the application deployed in the field
  • Set and manage expectations with senior stakeholders, team members, and company management

What You Have

  • A degree in an associated field and/or other advanced certification along with significant experience
  • 3-4+ years of relevant experience developing applications using C++, preferably backend systems/systems with any sort of IPC
  • Proven experience with C++98 codebase, knowledge on how to refactor existing C++98 code and implement new features by applying the best practices from the latest standards (C++11/14/17)
  • Working knowledge and understanding of networking
  • STL or Boost or any portable library and understanding of its concepts
  • Ability to get acquainted with a large codebase quickly
  • Good debugging skills in a Unix environment

Nice to have

  • CORBA or gRPC/similar experience
  • Experience working with custom XML-based custom communication protocols/DTD (Document type definition)
  • Experience writing unit tests
  • GCP/AWS knowledge
  • Java and/or Python knowledge is a plus
