What You’ll Do

  • Understand solution architecture and translate this when building and structuring a development organization;
  • Can build a high-level software architecture (component/application, deployment, sequence/DFD), from a business targets point of view;
  • Hands-on in the delivery pipeline;
  • Can read and understand the code of a full stack technical solution at the logical level;
  • Aware of industry recognized technologies and application frameworks for different application layers. Understands data and information management;
  • Aware of the cultural differences in their teams/customers;
  • Aware of business etiquette;
  • Enhances team collaboration with industry recognized practices;
  • Can make tough decisions (e.g. proactively manages rotation where needed, resolves issues with poor performers etc.);
  • Scope:
    • Thinks at scale, large and small (release / roadmap / MVP / time to market, but also grooming, WBS, multi-level DoD).
  • Estimation:
    • Hands-on at the high level and drives low level estimations;
    • Able to explain estimates and prove they are correct.
  • Quality:
    • Ensures that everyone contributes to quality;
    • Understands quality metrics, manual vs automation testing strategy, and knows the industry recognized tools in this area.
  • Risk management:
    • Identification, analysis, mitigation, notification, and registry management.
  • Schedule and timeline:
    • Maintains timeline-bound project roadmap including long-term delivery forecast.
  • Change management:
    • Understand the rollout and operational aspects of delivery: managing knowledge transfer, training, L2-L3 support, etc.
  • Practice Agile with a client and team (Scrum / Kanban / SAFe / others), and has extended knowledge in stage gated management methodologies (Waterfall / RUP / PRINCE2 / ITIL / others);
  • Understand the budgeting process at the project level;
  • Manage attrition on the project;
  • Handle conflict resolution;
  • Able to build scalable, distributed, hybrid teams of up to 30 ppl;
  • To knows and use global resourcing processes and KPIs (utilization, attrition, etc.);
  • Knowledge of resource management techniques for long term engagements including how to maintain motivation, continue empowerment, and handle rotations.
