Lead / Chief Software Engineer (Java)

Currently we are looking for a Lead / Chief Software Engineer for our Pune office to make the team even stronger.


  • Coordinate with team/project stakeholder management;
  • Manage the project from requirement phase till production and deployment phase;
  • Lead code review activities and ensure defined quality standards are met;
  • Effectively identify technical gaps of junior team members and solve their technical issues;
  • Effectively learn functional aspects of project;
  • Mentor Junior developers and take delivery responsibility of assigned projects;
  • Identify and raise risks and potential issues on time with a mitigation plan;
  • Should be able to lead multiple projects with a sense of ownership;
  • Do hand coding and support the team when needed.


  • Hands-on experience in design and defining architecture of complex web-based applications;
  • Hands-on experience building distributed application using Core Java 7/8, Spring, Spring boot;
  • Experience in ORM frameworks such as Hibernate/JPA;
  • Working experience with SQL databases such as PostgreSQL, Oracle;
  • Hands-on experience with Web services development (RESTful API is mandatory/ SOAP is optional);
  • Experience with API Security / Spring Security framework;
  • CI/CD exposure to build pipelines and containerization tools such as Jenkins/Docker;
  • Microservices and Cloud Native application and knowledge of 12 factor application guidelines (experience/Knowledge of Spring Cloud/Docker is definitive plus);
  • Well versed with unit testing – Junit/Mockito/PowerMock;
  • Able to perform code review and knowledge of static code analyzer;
  • Knowledge of OWASP top ten security vulnerabilities;
  • Hands-on with Agile methodologies;
  • Understanding of non-functional requirements;
  • Well versed with build tools such as Maven/Gradle – should be able to set it up from scratch;
  • Knowledge of design patterns and how to apply them to various scenarios;
  • Experienced with Angular 2+ (should be well versed with routing, compilation, internalization, build and deployment);
  • Good in unit testing (Jasmine).

Nice to have

  • Working experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB/ Cassandra;
  • Experience with messaging/event driven architecture (exposure to tools such as Kafka, RabbitMQ etc.);
  • Understanding of test strategies and various testing methodology (JBehave/ Cucumber/JMeter);
  • Experience with any cloud is definitive plus.
