EPAM, recently named the #1 small tech company in the US by Forbes, is looking to build and strengthen our Solution Architect team by adding a Drupal subject matter expert. The Drupal Solution Architect will be innately familiar with the underlying structure of the Drupal CMS and has a history of building complex full-life cycle implementations, including a wide range of integrations with third party systems, with a focus on maintainability, reliability, scalability, and performance. This role has a breadth of responsibilities in addition to technical development, including a stronger emphasis on scoping and level-of-effort estimation, as well as producing technical documentation and maintaining active client communications.
Able to run a project and manage tasks for a small team of developers with minimal oversight and direction;
Be visibly active in the Drupal community (e.g., active on Drupal.org discussions, contributes to or maintains a public Drupal project, has presented at a Drupal event, etc.);
Lead the Drupal development team be accurately advising and assisting fellow Sitecore solution architects, technical leads, and senior developers on Drupal and related integrated technologies such as Search or Marketing Automation;
Successfully communicate with development team members, project managers, team leads, technical managers and clients;
Act as a main point of contact for external teams to interface with regarding Drupal projects;
Escalate development issues appropriately to technical managers, project managers, and senior management;
Keep up to date and spread awareness of new/emerging capabilities and trends on Drupal;
Support sales teams when needed as a Drupal subject matter expert;
Support marketing in several ways: e.g. co-planning, thought leadership, and motivation;
Author as well as review client-facing documentation;
Lead internal technical documentation;
Author technical designs involving complex integrations and multiple servers;
Review technical designs;
Design, Lead and perform difficult development tasks such as complex integrations;
Provide reliable Level of Effort (LOE) estimates;
Work on multiple projects at once;
Advance the state-of-the-art for Drupal at EPAM.
Bachelor’s degree or sufficient related experience;
Excellent written and spoken communication skills;
5+ years of experience in building web applications in PHP/MySQL and at least 3 years of experience in developing with Drupal CMS;
Familiarity with LAMP stack (SSH, command line tools, web server);
Understanding of HTTP request/response life cycle;
Comprehension of SQL queries and database design concepts;
Proficiency in using Git and related workflows for source control management;
Ability to communicate software and system design architectures using tools like Visio and familiarity with UML;
Experience in managing deployments of Drupal projects with multiple developers across multiple environments;
Ability to accurately scope tasks and estimate level of effort;
Experience in leading a small team of developers and managing task backlog;
Expertise in unit testing, automated deployment processes, and continuous integration;
